vikingeck Hi Alex, thank you for taking the time to post your Samoan fruit stamps and for the information about "green" Samoan oranges.
Here is my page about "green oranges." While I do have an example of the Samoan stamp, it will be in a geographic section as I didn't find the green to be green enough for this page.

I took the day off from our seemingly never-ending landscape project and spent the time with my oranges.
I am woefully behind in arranging pages and today was a treat to charge headlong into what I call
THE FINE ART OF THE ORANGE.

JeffS , thanks for the showing, "The Fine Art of the Orange." and as you say, what a treat :-)
In addition to Federico Nordalm's, Parcel, the Spanish stamp with its illustration of a work by Elena Narkevich or even on the Romanian issue with its copy of a piece by Ştefan Luchian, also caught my eye.
Peeling back the rind, other issues to consider from the gallery of postage stamps with paintings that include oranges are: Abstracción de Frutas, Leonel Vanegas (2003, Michel n.º4310), another work by Elena Narkevich "Still life with fruits", by Elena Narkevich (2003, Michel n.º135) or even a Hungary issue depicting a painting of fruit, by Bela Czobel (1983, Michel n.º3635A) Happy collecting!

You can add these to your famous paintings:
Van Gogh, Still life with basket and 6 oranges: Grenada Grenadines 1991 Scott #1343
Cezanne, Apples and oranges: Cambodia 1999 Scott #1880
You have a couple of Australian stamps showing oranges, but were you aware of this one?
The River's Pride (from a set of Nostalgic Fruit Labels, 2016) Scott #4492 (sheet) and #4496 (self-adhesive)

This gem arrived today:
A promotional cover for the CLOVERDALE CALIFORNIA CITRUS FAIR 0F 1897 with lots of action for the auxiliary marking. In a nutshell, the item was addressed to MILL VALLEY (Marin Co.) (no receiver)
(According to Jim Forte's PO list, this location had a PO 1890-1892 and 1904-current, thus no post office at the time of this cover)
At some point (likely san Francisco) the addressee was not found in P. O. Directory.
Subsequently advertised in San Francisco, marked Unclaimed, endorsed in pencil Refused and the Citrus Fair illustration defaced. In addition it was held at General Delivery, likely San Francisco.
A some time during its travels it received an Eastland Cal backstamp, date indistinct. . . .
The Cloverdale Citrus Fair began as a typical country fair in 1892 and still remains the earliest fair held in California each year. The fair was established as a way to celebrate the abundant citrus crop that was once part of the northern Sonoma County landscape. It is still held every year.
. . .
Note that the website continues to use a nearly identical version of the illustration on this cover. cloverdalecitrusfair.org/about/

Great idea. I have small wooden crates that used to contain mandarin oranges that I use to keep all my Scott/Prinz mounts in. I will have to take a photo of them but I have to hit the bed soon.

I have had good fortune in coming across oranges-related advertising covers. This example was by pure chance as I was doing an eBay search under "1931" for something completely different and this popped up.
The seller failed to use any key words in the description that my numerous searches would have picked up on.
A great companion to these other Oroville items previously posted:

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I've made a mental commitment to put together a 1-frame, 16-page exhibit of Jaffa Oranges for the Greater Houston Stamp Show next September. Thus I bit the bullet on this Israel booklet (ID as Bale B3b) which contains a pane of 6 each of the 5, 10, 15, and 20 pr. value first issue Doar Ivry stamps.
The back cover bears a message promoting GIFTBOXES OF ORANGES.
I consider this the "best" item in my Oranges Philately collection. Not a lot of these survive.

JeffS......back then as it is today. The translations from Hebrew to English are often incomplete. "Gift Boxes of Oranges' should read 'Gift Boxes of Jaffa Oranges' !! Nice Booklet.....and not without value !! Are you sure this is Bale B3b ? Is there a description ? Londonbus1

Londonbus1 Hey Michael, Thank you for the correction on the translation. Is the other translation correct?
I don't have a Bale catalogue so I am taking the seller's word for it. Could you copy and post the pertinent section from Bale so I can see if my example meets the requirements of that catalog number.
Thanks for the help!

JeffS .....I don't have a Bale Catalogue, the price has always put me off even for second hand copies. I do use for reference the local Carmel Catalogue which most often (though not always) goes close to the Bale and/or Scott numbers. The number of your booklet in this catalogue is Booklet 3a (B3a) as it clearly states 'Back oranges'. But it might not be. I will look into it. Londonbus1 EDIT: UPDATE........I have just found copies of both booklets with the Oranges advertisements and the listing also gave yours as B3b. So in bale they are 2a and 3b and in the Carmel they are 2a and 3a. The stamp world is a funny place sometimes !! www.hipstamp.com/listing/israel-doar-ivri-booklets-b1-b2a-b3b-set-mnh/19600818

I had some time last week to revise my Insect Enemies section:
JeffS, you never cease to amaze me with the way you've taken the Topical theme of "Oranges and other Citrus Fruit" and so beautifully expanded it into several pertinent sub-groups. Post after Post you've shown that you have great vision and imagination. I really think you could assemble all of this material into an important Philatelic survey. It would definitely serve at least two purposes, first, an incredibly rich and diverse philatelic look at Oranges etc. and second and perhaps more importantly an exceptional reference on how to present a topical collection. Thank you for all that you share. Rob

My Bale catalogue is getting a little bit long in the tooth, dated 1998, but it should hopefully still be current info for such old booklet listings. B3 is the listing for the booklet with 4 panes of 6 and a back cover advertisement showing an automobile - the front and rear covers on the booklet are made of orange card stock. B3a is the same booklet with a back cover advertising oranges - this one also has front & rear covers made of orange card stock. And B3b is your booklet, with a back cover advertising oranges and front & rear covers made of white card stock. My Carmel catalogue is also old and limping, dated 2001 - it shows the same listing for booklets. Different prices though, my old Bale shows $1000 / $500 for B3a / B3b whereas the Carmel isn't as fussy about card stock colour and shows $1100 / $900. Ryan
