Here is a little neat idea, Create your own stamps from the Country of your choose. Below is a blank stamp to use to build your own stamp.
Below are a coupe of stamps i made up for Canada. Fun doing it..Give it a try.

Interesting. One twist is to show a stamp and design a better one. For example, a US Star Trek stamp.

@wert, Very interesting. The stamps that you made up for Canada are actually much more appealing than those currently being offered by Canada Post.

Hi WERT
Interesting. Did you use a graphics package (if so which one), or some other software?

Jerry I use a lot of programs for stamp collecting...These are FREE {owners would like a donation} but not necessary. FIRST: GwyddWon for windows and Mac
SECOND: GIMP for Windows (alternative for Photoshop)
THIRD: Shutter for Windows
FOURTH: Shotwell viewer for Windows
FIRTH: Pinta for Windows...to clean up a stamp for more details, go to “EFFECTS’ then “PHOTO” then “SHARPEN”
These programs are all FREE...Enjoy...Any questions...Ask me...I do not use Windows or Mac

Hi Robert
Thanks for the info. For stamps I usually write my own software. That way I get software without a bunch of stuff I do not need.

I tried using GIMP and gave up. The interface was just too different but it did have a nice distance measuring tool.
I also have PaintShop Pro but never have spent the time to really understand how it works. It is on my list of things to learn more about using Youtube University.
Most of my work is with camera or scanner images so just use Adobe Lightroom. It does not do image editing like the paint programs.

Here's a little NEATER idea: Create your own stamp, valid for postage [unlike yours, WERT], from any of the over 60 countries of your choosing, that currently offer personalized (personalised) stamps or personalized tabs of stamps. Including USA (photostamps.stamps.com) and Canada www.canadapost.ca/cpc/en/personal/sending/letters-mail/custom-stamps.page. I created over 150 designs of personalized stamps from Australia, USA, UK and The Netherlands. The advantage of your proposal, WERT, is that can create ANY design you want, without needing anybody's approval, at your own risk, responsibility, and pleasure.
My grey wolf non-traditional maxicard, with my personalized stamp designed at Zazzle, and the MPP pictorial postmark from Bill Porter.

dorincard I was just posting to have fun with collectors creating their own stamps. trouble is Canada Post will print your creation at a price $68.00 CDN per sheet. (plus taxes, plus shipping and plus handling..Very expensive}
Canada Post creates for special occasions such as weddings, grand kids, etc. Not sure if they would print controversy stamps, dog stamps, famous people stamps, etc.
That's why i posted for collectors to have fun with.

I see, WERT. So, $68.00 CDN for a sheet of 50 stamps. Comparable with the price for 20 stamps from stamps.com. NO, Canada Post and most other national administrations will NOT print controversial designs of personalized stamps. They want to avoid "Sue Happy". For famous people - only if you can prove you have the right to use that image. Dog stamps? They are the easiest to be approved! I love your idea of philatelic fun with proof-of-concept cinderellas, which many of us tried many times. If you ever want to materialize a design, some of the easiest and least expensive options are the personalized stamps from the Republic of Moldova, and The Netherlands. As few as 10 stamps per sheet. Stamps issued with Vlad Dracula (Vlad The Impaler), Marie Curie, etc. Vlad Dracula (Vlad The Impaler) maxicard with my personalized stamp from The Netherlands.

Interesting. One twist is to show a stamp and design a better one. For example, a US Star Trek stamp. Would not take much creativity to make a better Star Trek stamp. I am ashamed Canada ever issued that series. David

Hi David
William Shatner, aka Captain Kirk, was from Montreal, Canada. Therefore, I guess, the reasoning behind Star Trek stamps.
