There are lots of these so called oddities on stamps that if you look really hard, don't make sense. Here i an example on a Canada Scott 438 stamp.
Regular Scott 438
But if you look really hard, there is an oddity on the ships wheel..ONE wood wheel spinal is missing. Compare with the stamp above.

Another Canada stamp mistake. Scott CE2 plane stamp. ONE: Right side of plane has NO windows. TWO: Plane air flow behind factory smoke stack.

Here is a Scott 367...anyone who has ever fired a rife will see this is wrong. He is firing right handed...BUT, has his right eye closed... if you are firing right handed, you aim with your right eye.

This one has often caught my eye. The hand gesture can be done, but it is unnatural, like a pre-Star Trek 'Live long and prosper'. Could it have had a particular meaning in the promotion of the 1946 Canadian Citizenship Act? Here is the artist drawing, with the same gesture as a clumsy effort to capture the C in Canada, from a blog post. The model wears a work shirt but nice trousers; pleated, cuff with full break. Go figure.

kasvik...Interesting theory...Yes, could be a gesture lost over time....The proof does show what looks like capturing the "C" of Canada. The actual stamp falls short of touching the "C"...The gesture may have been their, but lost over time.

Here is a mistake that was done on purpose. This Scott 62 Cabot stamp has a picture/drawing of Joh Cabot...BUT there was NO drawing of Cabot..They used his son's drawing because of the close resemblance.
Interesting conception of Cabot. Robert

Here is a Scott 209.
Robert
Look at the hand of the little girl holding a watermelon..3 fingers and White....weird.
Look at the bow the Indian is holding...Bow at the top is out front and the bow on the bottom is behind his leg...Wouldn't that be painful with the string against his side..Just saying

WERTtook a break from Yougoslavia to look at my Mint copy of Unitrade/Scott # 209 and noticed your findings so these would be constant and not a variety by itself - in other words the designer made mistakes ! René

Yes, I agree with René - artistic license, much like cartoon hands with only 4 fingers. Besides, that bow looks to me like it is slanted backwards a bit. Looks normal to me.

I've been meaning to post these stamps in this thread ever since it came out. Part of the first series issued by the Bailiwick of Guernsey in 1969 were the two map stamps at 1p and 1'6. But the latitude on the map is wrong! It reads 40 o30'N instead of 49 o30'N. Two corrected stamps were r e-issued a year later, of which I only have the higher denomination, and the cancellation hides the correction somewhat.

Hi guys I know that this is an old thread. But I had to say something. When I was in the military, the DI was amazed. I can close my right eye and keep the left open, but not vice-versa. On the firing range I fired the rifle right handed but aimed with my left eye. So, to me there is not a problem with the image It was awkward to say the least, but it worked. Jerry B

Jerry B Jerry B Yes, there dozens of weird ways to shoot, but could you hit anything? Did you qualify that way?
No shortage of shooting theme stamps, especially from the Swiss (all those Wilhelm Tell's son, for a start).
