Hi, looking forward to joining in on this Forum. I have been collecting stamps since I was 8 years old and am now 61, so a few years now. I collect GB mint and used up to 2010, then only used until 2019. Also have collections for most commonwealth countries, Suriname (mint and used), used only from Finland, Aland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
My main collecting area though is Guyana (British Guiana), which strangely started before I met my wife (Guyanese), but since then I collect anything that has Guyana on it, stamps, postcards, coins, banknotes, belts, ornaments, keyrings, etc., I guess you get the idea by now.
Hope to make new friends on here.

Welcome to TSF, Martyn ( guyana1230)! Glad that you found us! I am a US expatriate living in the UK (Oxford) since last October. Whereabouts in the UK are you located, if you don't mind my asking? Our two stamp collecting timelines are almost identical: I am only a few weeks away from turning 61, and I also started collecting stamps around the age of 7-8, so like you, I now have more than 50 years of history with the hobby. Not really that far from Oxford well reasonable distance then. I remember at about 9-10 years old collecting Ice-lolly wrappers and sending off (I think 10) so many per packet of stamps, all eastern block of course. Was born in Southampton so moved a whole 30 miles along the coast. martyn |

guyana1230 - Good to have a Guyana specialist on board! I'm just another general WW collector, however also interested in postmarks and postal history items. I really love the Guyana classics, but my collection for Guyana post-independence is simply embarrassing. Looking forward to learn more from you and see your stuff
