Bogus cinderella issues for a real state in India. From Wikipedia: Nagaland /ˈnɑːɡəlænd/ is a state in northeastern India. It borders the state of Assam to the west, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to the north, Myanmar to the east, and Manipur to the south. The state capital is Kohima, and the largest city is Dimapur. It has an area of 16,579 square kilometres (6,401 sq mi) with a population of 1,980,602 per the 2011 Census of India, making it one of the smallest states of India. Nagaland is one of three states in India where the population is mostly Christian. Nagaland became the 16th state of India on 1 December 1963. The state has experienced insurgency, as well as an inter-ethnic conflict, since the 1950s. The violence and insecurity have limited Nagaland's economic development. Agriculture is the most important economic activity, covering over 70% of the state's economy. Other significant economic activity includes forestry, tourism, insurance, real estate, and miscellaneous cottage industries. Following are the perforated sheet and imperforate CTO-cancelled souvenir sheet for the 1974 UPU Centenary.

I remember having a few of these years ago. As I had limited resources for research I never knew that to do with them. Sometime in my twenties I traded all . Have no idea what I got in return.
great post.

guyana1230 It is amazing that both of us created a thread for the very obscure Nagaland at almost the same time!!

Another of Clive Feigenbaum’s money making Cinderella country issues . The nearest they got to the Indian subcontinent was via collectors . Never had any postal validity.

Some folks might actually find these interesting BECAUSE of their shady origins, eh? In any case, letting folks have their fun is probably wise. They have the right to collect whatever they want whatever way their little heart desires, true?

You are right Terri, I know I have an enormous anti Feigenbaum bee in my bonnet 🐝.
It hurts , but as the French say “chacun a son gout” each to his / her own.

Just reasearched this person, folowing a certain controversy inside our membership: Clive Harold Feigenbaum (1939–2007) was a colourful and controversial British businessman who was involved in a lifelong series of scandals in the world of philately. Particularly notable was the sale of "gold" stamps from Staffa and his role in the collapse of attempts to list Stanley Gibbons on the Unlisted Securities Market in 1984.(Wikipedia) Now this is a new thread, so I have to respect it.I want to understand why some collectors would promote these stamps/cinderellas/timbres faux (fr) ? I do not collect them but since it is a free World (as I understand it).....some members might promote them so that we do not forget how we can be fooled easily........ René

Of course, I had to look up Clive Feigenbaum after looking at the entire thread, either out of interest in what actually went on...or total and complete stir-crazy insanity from staying in my house. I guess both are acceptable options for passing the time.
