I reckon that last listing is dubious to say the least Al ! 👎
Not worthy of a listing in a thread that includes Penny Black or a Bavaria 1k etcetc
the “First issues Collectors Club” seems a bit elastic in its definitions and acceptance 🤪🤪
however , each to his own.

Yes, the group seems to have a liberal policy. My interest has been the history of the country so these issues do not bother me, Michel has a history of listing stamps others like SG and Scott do not because SG/Scott decided they were not legitimate, from a revolutionary state. etc. It is like not listing Cuba or Iran, etc.
Unlike some legitimate countries, at least Republic of Srpska Krajina stamp was not of some pop culture or other topicals as seen with Trucial States.

Another “hardly a No 1” if all catalogues except Scott disagree ………something far out here Al ! Even the French, Germans and British agree for once. it is even a surcharge of a previously issued stamp of Senegal! The way Scott breaks up listings for Airmail, newspapers, postage dues, semi-postal etc each starting at #1 seems crazy to me , but then as I collect European #1s I have difficulty reconciling the post war new countries, Slovenia , Slovakia, Moldova, Belarus with my classics.

vikingeck It was noted other catalogs disagree. The number 1 for others is a semi-postal so using Scott's logic (some do not like that either) it is B1 so it is a number one but as a semi-postal. I have quibbles with catalogs all the time. The First Issues Collectors Club generally does their reference site using Scott and SG plus sometimes Y&T so not so unlike some groups they do npt push one catalog exclusively. www.firstissues.org/catalog/catalog01.phpThe articles in the newsletters end up discussing catalog differences.

Yes Al , different catalogues can confuse, even way back in the 1850s there are disagreements.
I think of Denmark #1 where the. 2 RBS is listed as #1 while the 4RBS was actually issued first, listed as #2 , and Prussia sechs pfennigs orange is #1 in some catalogues but not in others .
That I can live with. I collect #1 plus matching concurrent listings , #2,#3 etc. where possible.
Scott’s catalogue fragmentation however is where my quarrel lies …………..😠😠😠 and that’s not ever going to change.
First Issues Collectors Club chooses to follow. Good luck with that.

From the web site www.firstissues.org/countries/fr_w_afr.php† Regarding the first issue, Scott [1] begins with stamps of Senegal (Sc1-3, Sc8-13) and Mauritania (Sc4-7, Sc14), surcharged. Gibbons [2] continues to lists these in the countries of origin and starts FWA with a semi-postal stamp. The FICC catalogue entry supports Gibbons.Discussion is good as many may not know the differences in catalog listings.

Bahawalpur Sc1 SG18 issued 1947. Bahawalpur was a former Indian feudatory state that was briefly independent following the partition of India in August 1947 into India and Pakistan. In October of that year, it joined Pakistan. Given the number of unused issues available today from Bahawalpur, they must have flooded the collector market.
