Regarding Angola Forgery post
I have never studied this design. To my eyes the fine text distinctions, while accurate, are rather academic for one trying to determine if genuine or fake.
The greatest apparent difference is the design in the circular ring surrounding the crown.
In the fake, the design appears to be black lines within a white ring
In the genuine, the design appears to be white lines within a black ring.
Seems strange that this obvious difference was not mentioned.
May I assume that these differences are across the board for all values?

Hi JeffS , I see the text quoted is from the Rev. Earie’s “AlbumWeeds” written at the end of the nineteenth century. It was not illustrated as I recall and the difference in the Greek Keys pattern circle would have been harder to describe and visualise without an image than laboriously counting dots. What is obvious in a pair of images might be hard to explain in words.

JeffS I was going to comment that the forgery was a much better looking stamp since the original appears overinked which explains the perceived differences. I think that it was just a poor choice of stamps for comparison purposes, see this link for more similar-looking Spiro forgeries although with different criteria for distinguishing between genuine stamps and forgeries. One reason behind the use of the monarch’s profile on the penny black and later followers such as this Antigua was the difficulty for forgers to get the facial expression quite right . The lady in the fake closely resembles the original but never quite right. Can’t see it in this one but often “the eyes have it “. In this case the mouth has a slight downturn and sulky look.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I hope I didn't miss anything... ...here's my contribution to the number ones. Suez Canal Company, #1, issued in 1868 On July 8, 1868, the Suez Canal Company issued four of its own stamps, but these had to be withdrawn in August 1868 following an objection from Egypt and are therefore extremely rare in genuine used letters.
