hrdoktorx - I suspect your Guatemala is a forgery. My first hint was the cancellation: Likely indeed. Thanks for noticing. This stamp comes from my grandfather's Harris album. If I added it myself, it would have been many years ago, so I don't remember its exact provenance. I'll make a note of that, though! |

First Issues of the Republic, Orange Free StateSc 1, 1/2-penny, red brown stamp depicting an orange tree  Note: This is one of those cases where actually the 1-penny red brown was issued in 1868, well before this 1/2-penny in 1883, but putting the stamps in order by denomination for the catalogue results in the 1/2-penny ending up as #1.

Federal Republic of Germany, YT #1, issued in 1949, commemorating the first session of the new Bundestag:  Germany in the post-war years is a complicated mess and each catalog issuer chose its own numbering scheme, hence I have been including the source catalog number. |

Finland Facit #1 II. Coat of Arms in oval.  This stamp exists in two types, small or large pearls in the posthorns. This is type II, large pearls. Type I was issued earlier, but this is still cataloge #1 according to Facit and Michel, while Scott list is at #3. Quite often these stamps are found with both a postmark and a pen cancellation, like my stamp. The postmark in this case is a 'Low box postmark', cancelled in Karis, adding insignificant premium according to Facit Classic Special. |
