The second stamp of this series is for the second decade of QEII's rule, 1963-1972, which was Canada's centennial year. The stamp for her second decade shows #471 (Unitrade/Scott). It was issued on June 30, 1967.

This cover commemorates the third decade of Lizzies reign, Unitrade/Scott #2515, issued on March 6, 2012. Note that there are no varieties listed in the Unitrade catalogue for these Diamond Jubilee stamps. They were issued as singles, panes of 4, postcard and FDC. The February 4, 1977 Silver Jubilee stamp is the stamp highlighting this decade - Unitrade/Scott #704. Varieties of the original stamp include the silver missing, untagged and DF (Dull Fluorescent) paper. The common stamp was issued on LF (Low Fluorescent) paper.

This stamp commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of QEII, Unitrade/Scott #2519, issued on January 16, 2012. It was only issued as a self adhesive in booklets of 10, but also in a die-cut single only available in the quarterly pack and annual collection.

Here is a home-made FDC from September 24, 1951 - Unitrade/Scott #311-314. CAPEX 1951 was a big stamp exhibition that celebrated Canada's 100th anniversary of the first postage stamp. Here, it looks like a military dentist posted at Camp Borden, Ontario sent himself a registered cover as a memento of the this issue.

This is FDC of Canada with featured stamp of Veronica Foster, issued to commemorate Victory in Europe (WWII) 1945-2020 This FDC is close to me and dated 29-04-2020 Veronica Foster was the lead singer with the dance band Mart Kenney and His Western Gentlemen, which was popular across Canada. While singing with the Mart Kenney band, Foster met trombone player George Guerrette. Guerrette was also a composer and a conductor. Foster and Guerrette married in 1945 and had five children. Their son George also went on to become a professional musician and composer. In 1948, the family moved to Edmundston, New Brunswick, my Town. There George Guerrette worked as the general manager of the local radio station.His brother Gilles is still alive and a prominent musician, also !! I did go to school with one of her boys, Tommy and knew her family very well. Just a piece of Edmundston, N.B. history.....on a FDC (which is rare)

Here is a first day cover "Sailing Vessels" issued Nov.18.1977. What is nice about this cover, there is a constant variety on this cover...Bottom right stamp is a Scott 747i { 3 pulleys - position 47 } The block is worth about 5.00 dollars but catalouge gives no value on FDC { first day cover}
Anyways, it is a keeper. Robert

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

This modern first day cover is a personal family piece. The stamp was issued on October 2, 1958 to celebrate the Bicentenary of Representative Government in Nova Scotia. (Unitrade 382) The sender, Ken Jones, was the Speaker of the House for the Nova Scotia legislature and the MLA for our home county. The Jones family and ours were good friends although on opposite sides of the political spectrum. In fact Ken Jones had defeated my father's business partner to take the seat for the Progressive Conservatives away from the Liberals in the early 1950's. Politics never seemed to interfere with friendship back then as much as it seems to do now. Note the fine print on the bottom of the envelope.

If you collect modern Canada, you know that Canada issues a lot of hockey stamps. Here are three first day covers from the 2004 NHL all-star series (Scott 2017a-f).
