Marc from Alexandria Bay (Thousand Islands NY) I collect primarily pre-1920 with some to 1945 from Europe, S.A. and Asia My main interests are postal history, variants and facsimiles I collaborate with several authors on related philatelic articles. Hope to be of some occasional help More time for stamps these days but the bait & tackle shops locally are open so that will be more of a priority. Marc

Welcome from the UK Marc ( marking) - looking forward to seeing some of your stamps on here! I like your avatar, not a stamp I've seen before.

I like your avatar, not a stamp I've seen before. The stamp is from the 1872 Paris set "Make-ready" - genuine ones are rare To my knowledge there are 7 varieties of this stage and lots of fake reproductions It is from a new printing technique developed by Anatole Hulot See HERE and HERE
