Hi to all, as estate agents in Spain, my wife and i are often asked to clear items from the seller that the new owners do not want. I have an interest in literature so normally take the books. These are Dickens novels all printed between 1900 and 1904, 10 in all and still with their gold leaf lustre on the page edges. Anyway, to the point, inside all of the books someone has stuck a centenary testimonial stamp (1d). Anyone has a comment about these please reply. Still very new to this so all comments positive or otherwise are extremely welcome as i have a lot of learning to do.

Interesting reading and thanks for sharing expat!
The centenary testimonial stamp (1d) you have found is a advertising, poster or Cinderella stamp and is a memorial to Charles Dickens - Tribute to Genius 100 Year 1912
Apparently and if this site is any indication - Charles Dickens Facts, the pasting of this stamp inside the cover of a Dicken's book was a common practice.
At the same time, one does see these available for sale on-line from time-to-time, "1912 A Tribute To Genius Charles Dickens Poster Stamp"...
Happy collecting!
