I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. I've had my pre-cut mounts sitting loose in a drawer just sliding around. Then I went to Staples and bought a plastic pencil case and did this:
Go ahead. Say it "Yeah, we know Andy. What took you so long?" It took me 10 years to figure out pencil cases are great for storing pre-cut stamp mounts. I'm feeling a bit stupid right now.

Andy,
You are not the only one who has a late revelation in this storage issue. I found a similar container last year. Of course ‘ what did I not think of this before’ ran through my head. So I now tend to look at any container or storage item with a view of using it in my stamping paraphernalia.
never to old to learn new things.

I have a box for my pre-cut mounts. I cut out the front of the package with the size indicated to keep it organized. These days I mostly just cut my own.

I store my stamp mounts in an old sewing table drawer. Each size is labelled.

I have a shoe box for my cut mounts, but my strips and sheet mounts, well, umm...
The plastic storage box is a great idea, really! Thanks!

If we are talking about strips storage. I have black and clear. The clear ones are taller mounts slit in half to be top loading.

I just bought a storage box for my strips. I prefer black mounts, the stamps to me show up better on a dark background.

andy Pastuzak I don't remember; I've had it many years. You can probably find one at a craft store, such as Hobby Lobby. You don't want one that allows you to resize the spaces, since those have gaps and the mounts will slide through.

I think saw something similar at Walmart. The one I saw had customizing sections.

I found a bunch at Michaels. Of course Michaels only does curbside pickup these days, so I had to order 3 different ones. I'll post pics of the one I'm using later today.

I walked into a thrift store and walked out with some small plastic storage containers for $1.00. They're the perfect length to hold 215mm wide stamp mount strips. I cut up some manilla folders, and stuck a label on them and came up with this:
This has all my mounts from 20mm to 33mm.
I have 3 more bins. I'll use another for all the other 215mm strips. I'm hoping I can find a similar container for 265mm strips.

I had something similar but migrated to something deeper. I now keep clear and black mounts up to 52mm.

Hi
I use only strips. Years ago I found stackable plastic drawers in an office supply. They were meant for paper and such. They are about 1" high, 9" wide and 12" long. The strips fit nicely in them. I also keep "tools" and paper in 2 of the drawers. They were, I believe, made by Sterling and I don't think they make them anymore. However, look in art supply stores rather than office supplies.

I'm the same way, Jerry B. I bought this stack of drawers at Michael's. Strips fit very nicely, as well as cardstock & page protectors & a bunch of other stuff...

I definitely need a better system
At present it’s a cardboard box But it does keep me frustratingly entertained looking for the size need

Somehow I missed this thread when started.
Very practical solutions at low cost. I have such limited space for supplies. Now I have some visuals to inspire me to make my own.

My little project this afternoon, just had to find the container . Not sure if the trip out was “essential “ under our current lockdown. It certainly was essential to a me a stamper. I did combine the trip with run for groceries and meds. First time out any in three weeks. Thanks for the great ideas in this thread fellow stampers.

Did some stamp mount re-organization this afternoon.
I found 4 of these at a thrift store over the summer. They're exactly 225 mm wide, so they're perfect for 215 mm mounts.
I had done some mounts earlier in 2020, but I got all my 215 mm mounts done now.
Now I need to find a solution for my 240mm mounts.

Ok, mount storage, take 2. I took angore idea of using a sterlite container and moved my mounts into it.
