Is it possible to tell from this scan if this is a Scott no. 8 or 8a, or an 11/11a with the perfs cut off? Thanks! Dan

Looking at the bottom, I can see indents in the paper that tells me, perfs have been cut off. They didn't cut off quite enough to make it appear as the earlier stamp.
But then what do I know? Just my thoughts on this, and sorry if it is 11/11a!

Yes, in agreement with brightonpete the indentations at the bottom are a bit too uniform to suggest riogh cutting of the paper but ... who knows I would be suspect

I see what you both mean - and they line up with perf 11 1/2. It's an 11/11a, and shall be cataloged as "disfigured". Thanks brightonpete and stainlessb
