I don't know much about them in general, but I liked this example. Post any you may wish to share, and something about them if you are knowledgeable.

In the tags : You will avoid this cancellation by applying the stamp on the top right. When the post offices taught education.

2ND DAY OF THE TECHNIQUE MAY 4TH (TECHNOLOGY) thanks to Rex
which doesn't tell me much.
Also I don't understand the roman numeral (?) XIX at the end of the slogan as well as in the date.
I like the added censorship aspect too.See Rex's followup on this post

The Fascist era was created precisely by Fascism, adopting as the starting date that of the day following the march on Rome , which took place on October 28, 1922 . The first year of what was the Fascist era therefore began on 29 October 1922 and ended on 28 October 1923; the second year began on 29 October 1923, and so on. The obligation to add, in Roman numerals, the year of the Fascist era alongside that of the Christian era came into force starting from 29 October 1927, following a circular dated 25 December 1926. The date of its cessation can be considered July 25, 1943, when the fascist regime was brought to an end. However, from 15 September 1943 to the end of April 1945 it was still in force in the Italian Social Republic, i.e. in northern Italy ruled by fascism

then April 4 of the fascist era XIX.. was the year 1941 . Starting from 1940, the "Days of technology" were promoted throughout Italy to promote knowledge of the institutes for technical and professional education, and as a propaganda box for the interventions of the fascist regime in the school sector. Nice envelope JeffS

rex - what is the purpose of the diamond pattern across the address area of the cover?
Is it postal?
Does it have anything to do with the slogan postmark?

The diamond postmark is definitely postal, it belongs to the post office service notices, I'm not sure for what purpose. I'm not sure if it's connected with the tag cancellation slogan. . however, I believe that it has been applied inappropriately, in order to disturb and draw attention to the slogan.

Do you mean the pattern along the cover just below the panettone? The slogan says: if you don't want such a pattern on your letter, just put the stamp on the top-right corner... The stamp (and the address too) were in effect placed on the left side... It was a way to teach people how to frank letters...
Even if, if such patterns were applied also today, i would definitely place the stamp on the left...

Another Italian slogan cancel from my accumulations, this for the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1955.
A variety of this slogan is known with the tilde in ANOS over the letter O instead of N. . . . And a public "thank you" to ameis33 for sending me the PDF files of the Italian slogan cancel catalog pages!

In the files sent to me by ameis33 is a page illustrating the obliterating designs, one of which was posted earlier here by rex:
