It puzzles me why the blue and red 8-cent blocks are categorized as Olympics - they look a lot more like outdoor recreation than Olympic sports.

I do believe they are all Olympic Sports that happen to be popular outdoor recreational activities. As the winter games were held same year, winter sports would be included. I do believe curling was a demonstration sport. I could be wrong on this. The Semi postals are some of the first issued by Canada. David

The first full set I ever owned thanks to my grand parents who delivered the mail in my rural village. I still have them after all these years. I have singles, blocks and full sheets of most. FDC as well.

Using the Unitrade Canada Specialized cat. 2020 - 629-632 (blue block) and 644-647 are designated as part of the 1976 21st Olympiad in Montréal...stamp series...... - "COJO" symbol (Comité Organisateur des Jeux Olympiques) or Olympic Games Organizing Committee - is seen when the stamps are held at an oblique angle. As René says, if you tip the stamp at an angle then the logo for the Montreal Olympics becomes visible. Here's a closeup of one of the stamps - tipping the stamp at an angle will leave the engraved lines in one direction the same width apart while those in the other direction will be seen closer together, making them stand out more visually. It's easiest for me to see them when I hold the stamp and tip it so that the horizontal engraved lines are the ones which are seen closer together and darker, leaving the vertical engraved lines looking farther apart and lighter. What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50
