I have been soaking Hungary kiloware, the majority of which are from the late 90s, early 00s, Antique Furniture definitive series. I wound up having most of the series but am missing some of the values. Regardless it occurred to me that Furniture on Stamps might be an interesting topical collection to explore...and, yes, there are more than just these stamps from Hungary depicting furniture. I already know of at least one set of stamps from the US depicting furniture that I will add later.  |

The "Arca dels sis panys" (Six locks' trunk), now replaced by "the seven locks' cupboard", is an old trunk used to keep all the papers needed to hold an Andorra governement meeting. The aldermen of each of the former six "parròquies" (parish=district), now seven, in which the country was divided held a key of a lock of the trunck. So, no meeting could be held without the presence of all parishes. The furniture, is held at the Casa de la Vall (Valley's House) at Andorra la Vella, capital of the country.
