Ooooo! Dear Santa, I want a nice authentic used cover for Canada’s 1953 50 cent Textile Industry stamp. There are some for sale, but I don’t want pencil marked prices on my covers, and, to be honest, some of the ones for sale look kind of bad. Extra cookies next year, Santa, if a blunt “G” overprint stamp of the same issue is included. Jean

polarbear - Jean If you would add the Unitrade Cat # for Santa it would save him a lot of time

polarbear - Jean If you would add the Unitrade Cat # for Santa it would save him a lot of time 😂. Unitrade 334 is the normal 50 cent textile industry stamp. The FDC for it has a CV of $13.00. O38ii is the blunt “G” overprint. I’d take it used or mint, but it’s a bit pricey for me either way. The CV starts at $150 for a fine used.

You mean the O38 textile overprint "G" 50¢ 334) - I have a copy ...looking (just) for a dup I have an 20¢ overprint

You mean the O38 textile overprint "G" 50¢ 334) - I have a copy ...looking (just) for a dup I have an 20¢ overprint There are three different “G” overprints on this stamp: a normal “G” (the 20 cent variety), a blunt “G”, and a “flying G”. As I understand it the blunt “G” does not have the line that crosses the “G” beyond the outside edge of the “G”. Both the flying “G” and normal “G” do. The difference between the flying G and normal G is the flying G appears a bit rounder, with the upright back of the G thicker towards the bottom left of the G. The normal G has the thickest line right smack dab in the middle of the left side of the G. Let me see if I can help with some photos. I do have the flying G and normal G, just not the blunt G.
