I can't find any mention of this color for this denomination. Any one have a clue? My Michel and Scott only shows this in green? Is it possible for a color changeling to go from a green to bright blue like this? Sheesh - this one has me stumped! Thanks, everyone, for any help! Any ideas about this label?

I found second one in Michel spezial as an exhibition stamp No.1 the translation reads 1881. Stamp exhibition in Vienna. Austrian State Printer demonstrated stamp printing on a Tlegel press, also often brought in by the exhibition visitors. Paper with or without gum. The original printing block was changed as follows. Instead of the value designation in the lower part. The year "1881" was used. All colors possible. In 1995 CV was 16 there was a later one in 1890 for an International exhibition, white year on black background, otherwise same design The first one may be a changeling- I only have green. If you look at top left corner, there appaers to be a trace of green

I found second one in Michel spezial as an exhibition stamp No.1 the translation reads 1881. Stamp exhibition in Vienna. Ole Osterrelchlsche State Printerel demonstrated stamp printing on a tlegel press, also often brought in by the exhibition visitors. Paper with or without rubber......................... This translation always amuses me , it appears on eBay regularly from German listings automatically translated... ”rubber” of course should translate as. “Gum”

I'm thinking some sort of chemical bath that zapped the green, the cancel does look faded, too. In any case, it is a nifty oddity and I love those! stainlessb THANK YOU! Great information! I'll print your post and add to my album.

I did find mention in Michel a warning about forgeries on the overprints, but only dark green is listed for the 50 Heller

philatelia according to Stamp Smarter yellow is highly susceptible to fading in sunlight. Green consists of blue plus yellow, so can fade to blue in sunlight. See this link with examples.

vikingeck- yes- the translation required a bit of between the lines. I found if I inserted Gummi it translated as "gum", gummi translated as "rubber" The print in my copy of Michel Osterreich-spezial is so small I have to scan and enlarge or read with a hand magnifier.... it's all fine print LOL

Wow, excellent examples on stampsmarter! Thanks, daniel . I thought it was a color changeling, but forgot my elementary school color wheel combos. I have a few other examples of dramatic yellow fading, but I simply forgot the blue plus yellow equals green. Duh!
