The second series of japanese national parks was issued between 1962 and 1974.Unlike the first series,issued 1936 - 1956, there were no souvenir sheets,but stamps only.All are affordable and quite easy to find.

Jo-Shin-Etsu-Kogen N.P.,issued March 15th,1965;
Apologies for taking this thread a bit sideways, but the 5-yen example shown here has a slogan cancel. In my vague memory, slogan cancels are not all that common on Japanese stamps in general, but this one is part of a specific campaign by the Japanese post office to encourage use of their new postal code system. The slogan basically says, per Scott catalog, "Don't omit postal code on the address." It is one of two slogans that appear on a 2 sets of se-tenant pairs, issued 1 July 1968 (Scott 956-959; this slogan appears on 957 and 959). Here's an example of the 7-yen se-tenant pair. (There's also a similar 15-yen pair, with a blue background.) (Not my image. To add to the confusion, with this particular image, 957 is on the left, while 956 is on the right. So, here, the slogan shown in the National Park example appears at the bottom of the stamp on the left.) Here endeth my trespass ...

No,I don´t think so. But then my knowledge of japanese stamps is limited,as I collect till 1988 only. The 8-9000 stamps,or maybe even more,what have been issued since,are out of my scope.

Arigato, Hironobu-san! Is it still valid for postage, for at least the domestic postcard rate?

Hello dorincard,
The stamp is still valid for use, The stamp was for domestic letter fee at that time (80 yen), and due to the postage fee change since then you need to add 4 yen stamps today.
FYI, Japanese stamps do not have any expiration dates (except for some of the classics), so we often find many 70s and 80s stamps still being used.

Hello, Hironobu! I wish you would explore creating maxicards, in general. For example, the National Parks stamps on maxicards would look great.
