Great stuff Alex ( vikingeck ); thanks for showing. I have seen bits and pieces of this over the months, but it is wonderful to see it pulled together into a single frame :-) Nice work and best of luck with the show... Happy collecting!

Dave have you been to “The Islands “? Hi Alex I have been to Fiji but not any of the other South Pacific Islands. The Cook Islands would interest me, if and when :-) I collect the 'Islands' stamps by way of collecting the Empire, Classical period mainly but they are sidelines to my main collecting interests. BTW I have a Samoan nephew and a Tongan one as well. I am married to a Maori girl and her sisters have those 'Islands' connections. Cheers Dave

The Final 4 pages are (to me anyway) less interesting but they bring us up to date as Samoa becomes the first independent nation in the South Pacific. Administration moves from New Zealand to self Government. The Country changes its name twice from Western Samoa, to Samoa i Sisifo, and back to SAMOA and subsequently shifts itself to the other side of the International Dateline . Pages 13-16

Alex ( vikingeck), I would just like to add my thanks and kudos to you for your excellent, informative exhibit, and of course, for sharing it with all of us here on TSF. Save for a couple of grade-school projects using stamps, I have never had the courage to venture into any level of philatelic exhibiting. I salute you not only for having the courage to pursue this course, but to have done it with such obvious success. Bravo!

vikingeck thank you for posting your exhibit. It clarified all the different “Samoa’s” for me which I never understood.
