My collection of Venezuelan "paquebot" issues. Some of these may be forgeries, but I haven't researched further. Sorry about pic quality - I don't have a scanner believe it or not!

Interesting items these ! They have a detailed listing of 39 types in the Scandinavia Facit catalogue under Danish West Indies.
The small Centavo values were for printed matter, the Reales for letters.
Because the Venezuelan currency was slightly different to the DWI it was necessary to print the Medio Real and the Dos Reales ( in the centre two rows) in two different colours depending on which port they were sold. Mail from Venezuela to St Thomas used the red Medio Real and the Green Dos Reales .. Mail from St Thomas going the other way used the Blue and Yellow issues .
These look to be a mix of genuine and some forgeries ....especially the cancels on the JAJ &Z Curacao
By the way the Venezuela Port is LA GUAIRA not La Guardia nor la Guaria !

Thanks for catching the spelling error, vikingeck ! And the info on the color differences for the routes is really interesting. Cool!
