Hello Everyone,
My name is Neil Cooper. I am located in the greater Toronto, Ontario, Canada area and have been an avid collector for more than 50 years
My primary collection is of Canada (very complete - only missing about 60 issues) although I also have a very large worldwide collection in over 40 custom albums. Philately is my main distraction from a very high profile / potentially extremely stressful job and it has served me very well over the years.
Best regards all and happy stamping!
Neil

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Thanks all for the welcome messages. I've been looking around the board a little more and it does seem like a very interesting place and certainly more interesting than some others. I look forward to having another resource and perhaps be able to share some of what I've experienced along the way as well.

Welcome, Neil! High profile? Please do some...profiling...and give us a hint at the nature of your mysterious, stressful job.
I have reasons to believe that maximaphily is very relaxing...

Welcome to TSF kernelgui ! Hopefully participation here will be a lot less stressful than your job! I, too, find this a relaxing hobby. I love TSF for its lack of drama. The admin does a great job here. I’m looking forward to hearing and seeing more about your collection.

For those on this thread that were curious about my non philatelic life - I am a fellow with AMD in charge of overall Windows display driver architecture. The online name "kernelgui" is an offshoot of that as I am responsible for the kernel (or operating system level) elements of the gui (Graphical user interface) for those of you that are computer savvy. Some may think it a little ambitious to even attempt to collect the whole world, but as "darkormex" mentions in this thread I do simply enjoy just printing my custom pages and "mounting as I go"

I just like the idea of collecting whatever interests me at the time. The whole world of stamps is open to me. I don't see any reason to limit my collecting to just one country. Sometimes I like to take time to specialize in something, sometimes I just like to collect and mount.
