William Simpson Lincoln, 1844-1922, was, perhaps, the first stamp dealer in London who opened his first shop in 1859. He produced a range of embossed envelopes with advertising rings and was well known for his sheets of crests, crest albums and postage stamp albums. You can see some of these at this Royal Philatelic Society, London pdf link here. I thought that I would show a selection of his crests and others from original documents that I have acquired.
Please feel free to add anything William S Lincoln related or any other crests to this thread.
Firstly, we have one of his original sheets depicting Heraldic Armorials. See this Wikipedia entry here for more detailed info. This particular sheet depicts crests, to use the broader term, for British Universities. Lincoln's own crests are usually monochrome with embossing.
Next to it is one of 4 Cinderellas that he produced for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. It shows his best known address, 2 Holles Street, London, although he did move several times.
Finally, a modern tribute cover from Gerald King addressed to Lincoln for the Golden Jubilee of 1887.

Here is another of Lincoln's sheets, this time depicting fraternal organisations such as the Freemasons and the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB) and others. Next to it is the reverse of the Universities sheet showing his stamped address. Below these are examples of crests cut out from Cambridge University and Homerton College, Cambridge stationery. Although, today, they might have more value if left as complete documents but that is how they were collected at the time.

What an exceptional collection Daniel. Thank you for sharing. I've read several books about Heraldry over the years but I've never seen many of these crests before. The ostrich feather crest I've seen on leather products and on the windshield of a new Jaguar XKE in 1965! A very different, very cool collecting area of ephemera.
