I've been reading the forum for a while and decided I should dive in. I collected US as a kid then again in my 30s and now again 30 years later. I'm dipping my toes into WW stamps with a topical collection of the stamps designed or engraved by French artist Jacques Combet. I'm working on an albumeasy catalogue of his work. It's up to 105 pages so far. Online databases of his work are incomplete so hunting for his work. I recently got a couple "bespoke" english albums at an auction with gorgeous linen hinged pages. so i'm trying to decide what to put in them. Something natural world related maybe.

Welcome Lickemandstickem, Your collection sounds really interesting, I really look forward to seeing your Combet. I'm a total fan of engraved stamps and believe France has created some of the best examples in the world of Philately (Their colonies too...). Welcome to The Stamp Forum. A great place to Show, Tell and Ask anything Philatelic.

Welcome I also collect several stamps engravers including Jacques Combet (only collected 35 of his so far),it always annoyed me when I came across a engraved stamp that I really liked but it never fitted with anything I collected, now if the stamp has a named engraver on it and I like it ,that engraver gets collected.
