On this Steiner page for some 1980 booklet issues, Steiner provides spaces for strips but Scott just assigns catalog numbers for booklet panes in addition to numbers for the singles. The fact that Steiner would put a strip when no catalog number number assigned surprises me. I plan to redo the page to create spaces for singles since I have used but curious how most album makers handle this.

Do not do pages for Booklet issues I have - buy the ones I like only - Put them (insert) in the FDC albums I have and note this in my inventory. Do not have any dedicated booklet album

The Unitrade 2020 Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps does list them. They use the Scott numbering system. #947a 948a and 948ai. i have attached a Copt of the relevant page. I do have these but do not have pages made. David

My surprise is that Scott listed only booklets but Steiner showed a strip of 3 which would be a partial pane. This tells me Scott expects singles expects singles.

René René If I am reading correctly. 947a is the pane and with the bilingual cover it is BK88 948a is the pane and with the bilingual cover it is BK92
It appears there is not a Booklet for 948ai. Is it possible that there is a mistake in the Steiner pages? Show « strips » instead of the booklet panes? Davud

David dgdeckerThis is what I read in the 2021 Unitrade - same as you My comment was based on the fact that the booklets were in Unitrade (I thought you mentioned they were not-sorry) - I have no clue on Steiner's rendition as I do not have the PDF for Modern CANADA, and do not use Steiner for any Canada page. Please note I added the catalog numbers to the Steiner page so any error on the assignment is my fault not Steiner. I add the numbers before printing but in this case I added then but decided to redo page before printing. The first image is from the PDF and not a scan of a printed page.

Another non-colloector question *and I promise there will not be a lot !) alythough many of these predate 1980 (not wishing to hijack thread, but a new thread just for this is probably not needed)- these are all booklet stamps correct?

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

That would be my assumption for all of them. It just so happens I had acquired a catalogue of Canadian booklet stamps the same time as the precancel one. The good news is I had hidden it in the same place.. . It shows the booklet sheets and all of these you have shown coincide with booklets made.

thanks much! This helps me organize them.
I thought I had given away most all of Canada, but not so..... It is once again time for a dedicated clean-up and organize so I know what i really have as I edge closer to some give aways of the the more random, and starting to post some focused lots on E-Bay. I hope by this time next year I am mainly just focused on those countries I will collect, which may mean some of the countries which i have a fair amount of stamps in may ultimately get 'weaned" from the group.

Not all of those stamps are from booklets, no. The Christmas stamp (the Dürer praying hands) was never issued in booklet form - the straight edges in this case mean the stamp comes from a miniature pane of 25. The 2 cent green Wilding stamp is another one that was never issued in booklet form and straight edges come only from a miniature pane. Some of the other Wildings could come from either a pane or a booklet, as they were issued in both formats. In some cases, you can rule out the possibility of being a booklet stamp because back in those days Canadian booklets were always stapled on the left side, so a straight edge anywhere on the left side (like that Christmas stamp, which is straight on the left and the top) can only come from a miniature pane. It wasn't until the Centennial issues that Canadian booklet formats changed, allowing booklet stamps with straight edges on the left side. Ryan

I did not even notice the Christmas issue. I was more focused on the older issues.
