In amongst an auction lot I acquired recently was a polythene envelope containing a number of what I thought were stickers so I put them to one side and forgot about them. Today while having a tidy up I pulled them out for a look. I went to my 2012 Stanley Gibbons world catalogue and looked them up. Dated to 1862 and catalogued at £300 mint. I very much doubt that they are genuine and have done a bit of searching but haven't come up with much. Does anyone collect Argentina and have a similar stamp that is confirmed genuine to compare or maybe someone knows if they are fakes. I probably have around 50 of them. This is the largest block. P.S. This is from a different lot to my other post Graham

Cant wait to see the outcome ...so I've bookmarked it. I have some difficulty with diagnosis of SCANS re: forged stamps etc - I like to see the typical signs, as Robert WERT has shown us many times.......the diagnosis with details - not comparing scans to scans ! and a representation of an "original" ! According to a Argentine collector friend here, this is an unauthorised reprint by Roberto Lange and is therefore counterfeit.

radiocruncherI believe he came to that conclusion because he knew they are counterfeit.
