I used to have a Linn's subscription, but cancelled it a while ago. Does anyone still subscribe to Linn's? Do you get any value out of it?
What else is out there besides Linn's that might be worth looking at?

I subscribe to the digital edition. It is not as useful now as it was since I do not actively collect US.

Around 1960 a distant relative sent me a stack of Linns. I remember leafing through the pages as if yesterday.

I subscribe to Linn's, the digital version. Prior to that I subscribed to the print edition for years. As the hobby has changed over the years, so has Linn's. It's a slimmer version of its predecessors. These days as an active worldwide collector I find the ads of some value (especially for exchanges and offers from small-time dealers), the US coverage is always helpful and detailed, worldwide coverage spotty. Once a month Linn's moves from a "newspaper" format to a "magazine" format where there are more detailed articles and better worldwide coverage.
I suppose there is a part of me that wants to support one of the last philatelic "institutions," its editors and efforts, even if I do not always derive consistent personal benefit. For that reason I still subscribe (though virtually) to our local newspaper as well as a couple of national dailies.
FWIW ... Bart

I don't follow the US market or actively collect US now, but there's always something interesting. For instance, the latest issue had an in-depth article about the 2ยข Jefferson's many varieties, and I thought it was fascinating - not least because one of the obscure varieties was printed a few miles from where I live. The updates to the Scott catalogue are cumbersome to use, but they're helpful for keeping up with new issues from the handful of places whose new issues I regularly get.
I actually think it's a better magazine than it was a few years ago: fewer articles in total, but more of them are in-depth. The regional columnists (Eastern Europe, France, Middle East, etc.) are all well worth checking in with. I agree that the worldwide coverage in general is spotty. There are limits to space, they are targeting a North American audience, and you can't please everybody.

The physical page size of all Linn's issues is the same. The "weekly" issue has had 32 pages for quite some time (it steadily dropped for a while) and the monthly Scott catalog update issue running over 100 pages with deeper dive articles.

I did once upon a time but they soon started stacking up and we never had a chance to read them. It's been at least 20 years since I subscribed, even to the digital. I looked in Barnes & Noble a couple of months ago, just for nostalgia and apparently, they don't sell them anymore. The only places I'd really seen them were laying around in stamp shops and those went the way of the dinosaur around here long ago.

Bart The monthly magazine format is what used to be Scott's Stamp Monthly.
Amos bought Linns and the bought Scott, and they merged the two publications together. For well over a year Linn's was free through their app. I read it for a while and then stopped. There's part of me that wants to subscribe out of nostalgia. But there's also part of me that would rather spend the $39.99 on stamps than on Linn's. if I could buy a 3 month subscription, that would give me gauge on how I would enjoy it now.
I used the Linn's app, and it's really top notch.

I subscribed 20+ years ago. Recently I thought about getting a sub but I doubt I would have time to read. All of the best news and info comes from TSF.

Just went to Linn's website. You can see a sample issue for free. A new subscription is $25.

Hello stamp friends. I get the monthly issue and enjoy it quite a lot. Sometimes I think my stamp hobby has become reading Linn's! Many of the article are very fascinating. I particularly like the Scott update, I use it all the time to keep up on my legal topic.

I recently got a subscription when I saw they were offering a print/digital combination for the monthly issue plus access to the weekly in digital form. I enjoy the monthly not only for the catalog update listings but also the articles.

I get the weekly online version. Mostly look to the classifieds, but I do enjoy articles like when the one related to Music and Beethoven especially this past year. See my new post under the Composers thread. There is also a nicely done article on Slania, the engraver.

I remember as a kid I would eagerly wait for the mailman to delivery the latest issue. It was the printed version back in the day (we didn't have internet, cell phones, tweets, and other nonsense we do today). Would spend all day Saturday reading it and imagining some of the far off lands it took me to.
I tried the online pfaffle, and not very impressed. It has a purpose for some people, but very limited one for me now.
