This is my first post so forgive if in the wrong place. What is the accepted way to display stamps with inverted or sideways watermark? I currently display them as per the watermark but was wondering what others do? ![]()

Firstly welcome.
secondly there is no accepted rule. do your own thing , it is your collection. What you show is certainly one convention.,but to my eye the black area over the sideways wmk is unsightly.
This is the problem with being tied to printed pages.
Since it is the watermark that is important I show them from the back.
I also do not use printed pages. I make my own. That way the side ways watermark can be kept together, not interrupting the flow.

I have not seen any collectors rotate the stamps to note watermark orientation. When I create pages, if I have same design stamps with different watermark orientation, I note it on the page as part of the description.

I keep my Great Britain collection in 8 Scott binders, and since Scott doesn't provide spaces for a lot of variations (sideways watermarks, inverted watermarks, phosphor variations, perf variations, etc), I've resorted to using blank Scott pages and adding the information as needed.

Thanks for the feedback. Must admit I was not too keen on the black space above the sideway watermark stamps so think I will change them to upright as the page is already printed with the information (506a, 506wi)

Just kept them all the same and added in description. Keeps things somewhat tidy.

Ultimately, how you display your stamps is your decision. I chose to just label them and show the variations the same way as the other stamps.
Here are two page examples from my collection. As you can see, I left room for some of the Commonwealth (Murray Payne) listed flaws, but have yet to find them.
