A "Birthday" Celebration for Triangle Stamps 1st September 1853 Day of Issue of the World's First Triangle Postage Stamp
Last year, I made a post in the This Date in History: Stamps thread, to mark the anniversary of the first date of issue of the world's first triangle stamp, the 1-Penny Cape of Good Hope: thestampforum.boards.net/post/105082/threadThis year, I thought it would be nice to start a thread to celebrate triangle stamps, where members could post images of their favorite triangle issues. I would like to begin this thread by posting another image of those first triangles from Cape of Good Hope: Left: COGH, SG1 (Sc1a), 1-Penny Pale Brick Red on Deeply Blued Paper Right: COGH, Sc1 (SG3), 1-Penny Brick Red on Bluish Paper (SG: Slightly Blued Paper)
Please note that I am also planning to announce a giveaway shortly that will have a connection to this thread, so please stay tuned for more details. Happy Triangle Birthday, everyone!

The FOUR PENCE value is by far the most commonly found of all the Cape Triangles
So multiples are always nice to acquire

Happy Birthday to my three sided friends. I didn't think I had any triangle stamps and was going to have to fake a bisect, then found a page from the Mozambique Company in my worldwide album. From the 1937 long definitive set. The joys of WW collecting!

I'll stop calling these tete-beche pairs because triangular stamps in multiples will always be that I guess. So here is one from the southernmost tip of the UK.....Land's End ! But it's not the end of the world just yet.

Still back to the originals again ... 1850s Cape of Good Hope . The SIXPENCE value is the least common and because the Lilac fades , the hardest to find in bright original colour

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

So many triangle stamps, so little time. The 1943 New Zealand semi postals depicting a young Liz and Marg is always a popular set. There have been several excellent examples of the Cape of Good Hope classics so I am almost embarrassed to share my mostly space filler examples. Yes, I find it almost impossible to throw out classics even when they are in tatters.

1970 South Vietnamese birds issues depicted various birds that inhabit in the Southeast Asia. I believe these are the only South Vietnamese (or Vietnam in general) stamps issued in triangle shape.

René beat me on this one but here's the whole set: Nyassa 1924 Postage Dues, Scott: J1-J9. I always loved the Giraffes and Zebras Nyassa depicted on their stamps.

1955 Lundy Island Millenary Horses Issue for Surface Mail. Numbers 129-133. A short set missing the 9 puffin.
Here's a link to a wonderful online catalogue of the Lundy Island stamps. www.acsc-history.info/lundy.aspx It doesn't give values but it's a wonderful reference.
