What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

A bit of a mystery is this cover from Toronto-Hungary 71 Exhibition and Seminar. The stamps are Hungarian from 1969 and 1970. The cancel shows the number 76 but I do not think that is for the year.

I read the postmark date as September 30,1971. Guessing the 76 may be a post office, a postal zone or even possibly the a number assigned to the canceling device.

Tend to agree with you Don. When I darken the image it appears the name on the cancel is a faint Budapest. I read the date like you. The 76 remains a mystery as does the event. Google has us spoiled so we get frustrated when it produces no results.

Wow, that is a beauty! The number "62" in the postmark is eerily reminiscent in style to the "76" on the one - an even fifty years older - that hdm1950 posted to start this thread.
