Hello everybody, I live in Gainesville, Florida, US, and work for the University of Florida in their IT department. I am a senior citizen that got interested in stamps when I inherited a world-wide collection from my grandfather when I was a child. I became more interested in US stamps as I aged, but I put all my stamp collecting materials away 35 years ago. For some reason I opened my box with all the stamp collecting stuff in it about 6 months ago and decided that they needed some love and have found myself getting more and more interested in the hobby again. I have managed to acquire all the US airmail stamps through 1983 (including the Zeps) in mint condition, and my main interest currently is 19th century US general issue (mint not feasible unless I win the lottery). The forum has already been of value to me as I found a thread that discussed the pane edges that I was seeing among some of those early stamps which I thought might be a defect and seriously affect the value of the stamps. The thread told me that they were a common occurrence and would decrease the value in the eyes of some collectors but they were not a defect. Thanks for the info!

to TSF! You should put the picture of your lab in the Member's pets thread, so it won't get lost. It needs some revival anyway!
