Collecting Machins is more like trying to collect snowflakes (all different). Due to the long production runs, rate changes, technology changes, etc. there is a lot of variations yet has the same basic design.
On the plus side, I would suspect Machins are the most widely collected modern issue series but do not collect modern for other countries. The US has nothing even close to the attributes - iconic design, continuous production lots of varieties (intentional and not intentional), easy to acquire since many used on mail.

The nice thing about the Adminware album pages is that they have 4 different levels of complexity. The Basic version is free, then there is the Novice, Intermediate, and Specialized. For those who do not know, Adminware is owned by Robin Harris, who is also the editor of the Unitrade Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps. adminware.ca/machin/Index.php?AlbumHi, uppercanadian, I purchased the specialized pages from Robin a long time ago, but I have never kept the revisions (pages) up to date. Maybe I will go back to them one day!!

Please note if you purchase the specialty pages you get access to the Intermediate ones too. I had reported some errors on the Intermediate pages but never saw any update version.
When DLR purchased Harrison, some issues are listed as printed by DLR and some by Harrison. Deegam says DLR for all but not sure how one decides, Other than date of purchase, what other criteria could be used? Did the print location change?
Update: I learned that the same plant and cylinders were used by DLR so there is no difference between a Harrison and DLR issue that spans the 97-98 era. DLR closed their plant and continued to use the Harrison facility was used until 2003,

I wonder how much SG would give you for the £65 catalog stamps. I would not sell to SG anyway. Generally speaking, looking at different sources, internet, auctions, dealers etc a lot of items seem to be selling at approximately 1/2 cat values (Gibbons). There are exceptions of course.

The Machin first self-adhesive booklet stamps, which were trialled in the Tyne Tees T.V. area (GB), from October 1993. The booklet here is attached to a Benham postcard #00377 from a limited edition of 1000.

I received this one today (from eBay) which has been added to my specialist collection album. I need 1 more 100g stamp to complete the set which is a coil stamp issued in 2010. My 500g page is missing 4 items MA10 with short bands base, 2 coils, one of which is ccoil & has short bands at its base & M20L with short bands at its top. I'm finding these difficult to source & would appreciate it, if anyone can tell me where these can be found, (unmounted mint never hinged of course). Thanks for any help.

I am building a semi-specialized collection of Machins; but have yet to tackle the self-adhesives. I do have some; but before going any further with them, I am wondering how to mount them. The backing is not uniform and they tend to slip around in Vario pages and mounts. It's hard to make the display look good. Suggestions?

At the moment I am cutting stamp stock cards to size & using them as mounts. The cut mounts are set in place using a glue stick. It's a bit "fiddly" but gets easier with practice. My album pages are merely quadrille leaves, but the stiffer backing of the card as opposed to normal mounts keeps the stamps flat & also stiffens the paper of the pages slightly. Saves money on mounts also. As for the new bar-coded self-adhesives, cut to size mounts are now available but I have not seen any as yet.

Received the scanned items today (ordered on eBay on the 6th December) & delayed by the recent strikes. 1st Large MBIL M21L, 1st MBIL M21L, 2nd Large MBIL M21L & 2nd MBIL M21L. The 2nd class small is on inverted backing paper & is a scarce item along with its counterpart on upright backing paper as these were not expected to be printed when the first of the bar-coded stamps appeared in 2021. Got both now so happy days.

Do you collect value tablet positions? angore Yes I check the tablet positions, as they are given different deegam numbers, although I'm way behind with the differentials because I find checking the "floating values" hard work.

Thanks drblade wow - so many, whooda thunk?
I think I'll stick with what I have and leave it at that.
I am with you on that one Pete. i have the basic from Adminware and I will stop there. Just too many varieties for me. I need to spend equal time on other collections. I will get some of these new additions as they are the first but I will stop there. Still many missing from the “ basic” collection. David You are correct David dgdecker when you said too many varieties, but that's the challenge for me although my wallet would disagree.

Well if we called the QEII definitives Machins, we would call the KCIII Jennings after Martin Jennings that designed the bust.

Well if we called the QEII definitives Machins, we would call the KCIII Jennings after Martin Jennings that designed the bust. Since we're talking about the pluralisation of surnames, that is, multiple Arnold Machin stamps are Machins, then stamps designed by Martin Jennings would be Jenningses (and we're not referring to the possessive case here). Jenningses may not trip off the tongue so easily. Sure, call me pedantic Daniel

I've just been adding a couple of 1st class N.V.I's to my specialist Machin collection. A pair of cylinder 13's were from the scanned booklet. The imprint in the booklet says printed by De-La-Rue although the Deegam profile (N1.23.3) indicates they were printed by Harrison.
