What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

teenkee, U.K. Special Delivery Service to Africa, Middle East, USA/UN and Asia during the 1971 Postal Strike in Britain. 45p Airmail to Asia and 30p Airmail to the other areas. The labels were rouletted. Possibly a Bogus type, need to check. Service ran out of Southampton in Hampshire, the source of many delivery companies ! Londonbus1

I'm still alive and kicking here. Working my tail off trying to get these things properly placed in albums. I put this in the Northeast China Liberation envelope but I think I was wrong. Any Idea what I have here? Thanks.

teenkee , that is an early definitive of The People's Republic of China, and was overprinted and issued in 1951. The base stamp was a pre-PRC remittance stamp. Various catalog numbers are: Michel no. 120 Scott no. 115 Yvert et Tellier no. 913 Stanley Gibbons no. 1517 According to Colnect. A hint to identifying early PRC overprints and many of the liberation area issues is the existence of stars in the overprint just like this one. I am not saying it is always the case and it is probable that there are other overprints from other China collecting areas such as Taiwan or the Republic that also have an overprint or two with stars, however, I always think of PRC and Liberation areas first and that is where I go before anywhere else in the catalog to identify them.
