Hello all, I was going through an old album and found this stamp. Cannot find it listed in my Gibbons, but it has 57b on the back. I think that would be a Scott#, but could not find it there either. Always welcome your comments!

The catalog number 57b is the correct one for the Plate 1 imperf in Scott. But you don't have the imperf. Rather, you have a trimmed normally perforated Plate 1, making it #57 in Scott. If you look carefully, you can still see some divots at the very top (just above the exposed pencil scribble at the hinge mark) corresponding to the bottom of the perforation holes where they didn't trim sufficiently.

Have to agree with khj . To be a convincing imperf one would like to see just a hint of an adjacent stamp imprint in the margin and certainly a wider margin on the right. The way this has been trimmed suggests someone in the past tried to “ improve “ a badly off centre example.
