For a moment of distraction, how many of these questions can you answer:
Which country is said to have issued the first Christmas stamp? Which comes first, the horizontal or the vertical measurement in a catalogue’s perforation listings for a stamp entry e.g. 15 x 14?
- What is the last item in the Stamp Collector’s Bill of Rights?
- Which country and on what day was the first postage stamp issued?
- Who appears on more stamps than any other individual?
- What is considered the world's most valuable postage stamp?
- Which animal is featured on the lowest denominated stamp issued for the Centenary of British Occupation by the Falkland Islands of 1933?
- What is the fruit that appears on the first stamp of the Pitcairn Islands?
- In which year was the posthorn first seen on Denmark’s stamps?
- Which island has the distinction of developing the service “Tin Can Mail”?
All or most of the answers can be found in the various threads and member postings here on The Stamp Forum...
Have fun and happy collecting!

Thanks Vince , Without cheating or looking up I have answers to 8/10 ... I misread the first one as Christmas seal (official ) which was Denmark in 1904, but that was not the first Christmas STAMP, and I have no idea of question No 3

First of all, thanks to Vince ( stanley64) for the distraction…. It was fun! I could only fully do 5-6 without needing to check anything, but if I could check, I would be able to do them all. As things go, I don’t think that’s too bad. Bravo to Alex ( vikingeck) on knowing 8 without needing to check anything. That is truly excellent, and kudos to you, my friend! Thanks again, Vince! As I noticed that this thread is labeled “No. 1”, I hope that it means that there will be a Quiz No. 2 at some point, perhaps when I have a bit more leisure to really enjoy it!

Great quiz. But for shame: I can tick 4, 5, maybe 6, and 9. I'll hang my head and disappear to sort laundry.

Thanks for playing along Dave ( daveg28); I did check your answers sent via private message and indeed, just over half are correct. In fact, better than that - 7 out of 10 and I doff my hat to your philatelic knowledge...

Hi Vince (stanley64), 5 out of 10 for me which is about the same as my Algebra average back in the day (raising the serious question of how I retired as an engineer???) . Thanks to your question, I found the Bill of Rights article, very cool. Thank you for the diversion.
Rob
Thanks for playing along Rob ( REL1948 ) and appreciate you discovering the Stamp Collector’s Bill of Rights. All good from my perch ;-) As for the Algebra averages, I can commiserate on the grades, my own calculus efforts read like a child's picture book for the alphabet. I stopped before we could get to the image of a dog.
Glad you enjoyed the momentary diversion; that is what is was for...
Happy collecting!
P.S. Gotta give a nod to the penguins ;-) In the posting here, you can see my own copy from the second printing.

Great quiz. But for shame: I can tick 4, 5, maybe 6, and 9. I'll hang my head and disappear to sort laundry. Hold your head up high there Aaron ( kasvik ); your answers, if correct are in-line with most of us. Even I had to double-check one my own answers based on a private message...
