Hello When I first started collecting again I was struggling to find out what some prints on stamps actually referred to regarding country. The following website was very handy for me. It is in Dutch but actually pretty straight forward to interpretate. postzegels.be/landen-benamingen-opdrukken-opzoeken/It is a webpage with a huge list of names and the countries they belong too. What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I have been having great success using the Stamp Identifier app for finding the country of odd ball items. Most the items I have been identifying are revenues, Cinderellas and classic small shipping companies that carried mail.

That is an iOS app. You'll have to check on your iOS device for it, if you have Apple vice Android.
