Hello everyone. My name is Neil and I live in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, on the West Coast of Canada.
I have been collecting stamps for most of my life. For the past 20 years I have focused on postal history, aerophilately and social philately. My specific collecting interest is the 1935 Silver Jubilee issue of King George V.
I have also tried to improved my philatelic knowledge through writing articles and exhibiting. Both activities have opened up new vistas and a greater appreciation of the hobby.
I have joined the Forum so as to further expand my knowledge and meet new and interesting people.

We have a quarterly Newsletter -- a monthly one would leave me no time to work on my own collection. Contributions from all of our members are welcome. The next submission deadline is March 4, 2022.

Thanks for your intro, Neil ( philatel2), and welcome to TSF! As it happens, we have another long-time TSF member who joined us from Saskatchewan originally, but relocated to Victoria a couple of years ago. His name is Mark ( madbaker).... perhaps the two of you will be able to meet. Anyway, as Chris ( cjoprey) stated and Steve ( Admin) confirmed, we do have a regular newsletter, and if you are inclined to writing articles, it would be an excellent way to contribute to the Forum. Please enjoy your time with us, -Chris ( Beryllium Guy) US expatriate living in the UK

Hey Neil! philatel2 Glad you joined us. I'm looking forward to meeting you. As Chris mentioned, I moved to Victoria a couple of years ago, just before Covid hit. Looking forward to joining the local clubs soon, but I sure haven't been lacking too much stamp-wise. The crew here is awesome. 💖

Welcome! Quite a special interest... What's so special about that 1935 silver jubilee, in philately?

Welcome, I will be in Victoria in May, wish I was there now. Still under the white stuff here in Port Perry, Ontariariario.
I do like that issue, as most of us do. Can you share the history of the design. I know HM GV was an avid philatelist, did he help in the craft of the set? My person favourite is the £ PUC, still trying to get a nice one used!
Cheers Roy
