I received my 2021 U.S. album supplement from Mystic today. Bear in mind, I do love this album. It’s perfect for me. My set extends to six volumes now, closing in on seven (that binder is ready to go in a drawer).
That said, I have a few thoughts about it. I like that they now give pages for individual stamps as well as full panes. I usually buy full panes, and blocks of four for stamps that I know will be single stamps in the album. My local post office is very accommodating. I do wish they’d just number the pane pages in order with the rest of the pages. It annoys my OCD that they’re numbered separately. Also, I’m reminded that we don’t get any airmail stamps any more. I miss those.
The only other thing is the glaring blank spot I’ll have in another supplement: the priority mail stamp. I never buy them at the post office, because of their high cost. So I’m missing many of them. I rely on them showing up on items at my office, but that’s not very dependable. Anyone know a way to get used priority mail stamps easily? When I look through my U.S. collection, those are the huge omissions. I’m keeping up on new stamps, and going after classics…I have virtually everything in between, except the express and priority stamps, going back quite a ways.
So for the most part, I’m happy with this years Mystic supplement. There were not a lot of oddities last year, so these pages should get filled and added to my binder fairly painlessly.
