My name is Dave, and my father collected stamps.
He passed away in 2008, and even though he never shared stamp collecting with me, I have his stamp collection.
I have decided to collect myself, and the past few years I have been learning about the hobby and adding to his collection.
I have been a member of a board known as "Stamp Community" since 2008, but recently spread out, joining a few different boards.
I collect almost only US postage up to 2000, and some, but not all, BoB items. (Air Mail, Postage Dues, and Ducks)
"Classic Era" cover is also an area of great interest to me. I love the history, style, and penmanship of the era.
Dad left my daughter with a Disney 'topical' collection, and those constitute the only "World" stamps I actively keep (until she is older).
He also left a very large UN collection. That one is just in 'limbo', as I have no interest, and it's face value is far more than it's market value... It is what it is...
Anyway, that's my summary.
I like to trade, but I still have a lot of learning to do.
I have a small amount of "World" stamps that I simply happened into, that I use for trading stock.
As for buying/selling... I am sitting on a VERY large excess of US stamps, but at the moment I buy far more often than I sell. I am an 'accumulator'. Maybe one day I will be organized enough to sell off my (quite literally) 5 gallon buckets of duplicate stamps.
