Hi all I'm an italian collector that ... don't collect (no more) italian stamps I have been collecting for over 50 years and in the last 20 I have dedicated myself to the whole world, a good way to compare, analyze and learn about other environments, other cultures and other friends. Of course I set limits (initially 1960) but we know that limits have the habit of moving and so I have now reached 1975 (where I put a couple of anchors). I am not possessed by the demon of the hole to be filled, I much prefer to study what is often underestimated: details, possible counterfeits, cancellations, but in general everything that can tie that little piece of paper to what was happening around it while it was doing his work. Thanks to all and happy collecting !

Hello Sergio. Nice to meet you here… I told you that I could help you with the English but I didn’t know it could be the opposite.

Welcome to TSF, Sergio ( serphil)! It seems that our complement of members from Italy is growing nicely. I hope that you will enjoy your time with us and perhaps make some new friends, too. I like your stamp…. very nice! Ciao, Chris ( Beryllium Guy)

Thanks to all. The real problem, in these " social" times, is the fragmentation of the points of attention. Various forums, specific groups, facebook groups, specialized sites ... a lot of work just to follow everyone in the short time available, especially if you arrive in the evening with the light on "battery low". Sooner or later I will be able to retire, but too many tell me that then I will have even less time

Welcome to the forum Sergio serphil I was a a 'world' collector for some short time, but it was just chaos. Then I set a cut of date (1970) but even that did't work. Now I collect what I feel for, but still debating with myself what to collect, what to cut out and where to place the cut of date. But one thing I know, i'm not into modern stamps. look forward to see your post's and images of your stamps - collection.

Welcome Sergio, yes that is true for me re retiring. I put in longer hours all of the time now. but have fun so either way all is good. I lived in Venice years ago for my work (artist) and loved it and still do. Have good friends in Italy that make me like your fine country and culture even more. welcome indeed, i am new here also ..but have found it a really nice place to share and see others collecting and learn along the way. welcome in Chris
