I am sending this email to eBay customers who have made recent purchases but not yet paid.
"Dear buyer,
eBay has indefinitely suspended all my seller accounts for the reason that I simply quit using one account. This is apparently a grievous violation of eBay policy as I have been told. So after 25 years on eBay I am out of business. On all 4 accounts.
If you want this cover please remit by mail to Jeff Switt, (address redacted)
This is the best I can do as I transfer all my listed items to HipStamp.
Most regretfully, Jeff" . . .
I am told I have no recourse. Because one account, POSTALHYSTERIA2013, did not meet their seller requirements as to volume, ALL 4 ACCOUNTS are now restricted. Permanently. And I am prohibited from opening another account.
Any pending payments or future payments for existing listings will not be processed
And, I was recently reading an online report about how ebay is suffering. Hmm, "ya' think?!"
So, keep your account(s) current!

Jeff, ( JeffS) Your listings still show for postalhysteria. I have been following that account for a while. Very strange, and a decidedly bad business model if Ebay is really doing that.

Yes they still show. My concern is that eBay may allow sales but not transfer the funds leaving me and the seller stuck.
My restriction is on listing new items. eBay is ambiguous about the status of existing listings.
Perhaps they will be content to simply let the listings expire ??
I dunno.
I did an online search re eBay and Restricted accounts. this has been happing to lots of other sellers over the years.

If the one account didn't meet the volume requirement, why couldn't you just have closed that account?

tomiseksj That does seem like a reasonable solution. But not to eBay. When one account becomes restricted, all become restricted. I did ask about simply closing that account and was told that wasn't possible. Seems that once an account becomes restricted that can't be done.

I gave up trying to close my account. They don't have my credit card (I think) so their emails will be marked as spam from now on.

Wow, Jeff I remember you being a part of the discussions on the old eBay stamp discussion board, and that goes back aways. ("Go to covers!") Don't share any more than you want to, but does this at all have to do with eBay managed payments? I haven't sold on there in about 4-5 years, but my account goes back to the very start. I guess, if I were to decide to start selling there again, I'd need to double-check and see if I even could. (I quit because my listings started getting suppressed for no reason other than I didn't please the algorithm. I did well on there before that. Just one day suddenly, never any views or sales again. (No negs ever, and high feedback ratings. But it was specialized material.) It did not leave me with a particularly fond taste in my mouth.) -- Dave

What an amazing odd way to operate a business. Looks like EBay must be earning too much revenue theses days. Great way to run a business but restricting four accounts because of an « issue » with one account. I but on EBay but have never sold. I do hope it does not create problems with any money transfers.

One size fits all approach usually ends up with angry customers especially without a human touch.

eBay think they can do what they want.
I in the process of moving my account of 20years after they have regularly restricted my account because I have not paid the 0.00GBP outstanding. Eight times in six weeks and whilst admitting it is their error they still can't solve the problem meaning I spend half my week talking to customer services getting my account reinstated....only for them to block it again two days later. Beleive me JeffS you will be better off without them.

Wow, I had a friend who stopped selling on E Bay due to their policy of allowing any returns on any grounds when buyers were keeping parts and sending things back incomplete, etc.
Well it all sounds quite complex and it is important i can see to read the regulations very carefully ..sorry about your trouble. It sounds unfair.
