Have been collecting stamp club acknowledgements of the 1940 centenary of the penny black. If anyone has material they want to offer please forward scans to me.
My focus is only the US and Canada - material that was sent during the stamp club event, including Cinderellas that were attached to catchets, or memorabilia that indicated an event that took the time to recognize this centenary is of interest - if anyone has an overprint of Canada 246 that was done at the Hart dinner in Canada it is of interest.
have been trolling EBay for a number of years but philatelic material of this type is not typically listed on a regular basis. If anyone has questions With regard to the material and events that transpired I will attempt to address them.
Anb example of what I am looking for is the letter sent from a dealer in Chicago to a gentleman in Canada that speaks to the politics of the year - 1940 - War in Europe .

Thanks for your comment, René ( renden), and for your question! I am not 100% sure how these are categorized. They are clearly a local or unofficial overprint onto a government-issued postage stamp. My guess is that if you didn't find it listed in Unitrade, then it must be considered as a local or Cinderella because of the overprint, but I am not 100% sure on that. Perhaps someone else can answer? daniel, cursus, Londonbus1, khj, others?

The overprint is unauthorised and so invalidates the postage stamp. That said, I want one but imagine that it is rare and expensive. The GB Overprints Society feature a page for unauthorised overprints, see this link. Some are Cinderellas. some are on postage stamps. Philatelic Souvenirs may well cover many overprints but not necessarily all. Here is a recent example that I purchased from Rushstamps, by post, I don't think they attended London 2022.

I found one with a starting price of $36. I'm not going to bother with it since it is un-official, but it is kinda neato.

That is an interesting block. Hart House is part of The University of Toronto and has a pretty storied history on its own.
