Hi, Thanks for letting me join. Like many I collected as a boy, then life took over and so now after a 25 year hiatus I'm back collecting again. I'm interested in understanding the changes over time of printing methods, security features, colours, postal rate changes and formats of issue (sheets, booklets, coils etc) and so what better way is there than the UK's long running Machin series? I used to collect all sorts: used, mint, commemorative, definitive. Now I'm focused completely on mint Machin definitives. Davy

Welcome to TSF, davy! The Machins are indeed a deep area unto themselves, and I admire your focus on them, and I wish you good luck in your pursuits of them. We have several members who collect them pretty seriously, so I imagine you will find plenty of common interest here. By the way, where in the UK are you located, if you don't mind saying? I am in Oxford. Enjoy your time with us, -Chris ( Beryllium Guy)

Welcome! Of course, the stamp below has a little controversary. NC and Ohio both claim first in flight. Ohio claims it because the Wright brothers were from Ohio and NC because they went to NC for the winds to fly the aircraft
