Hi I have taken up an old collection of stamps from my father and I am starting out in the world of philately. I am from Uruguay and I collect regular, air, fiscal and some thematic stamps from my country such as soccer world cups and birds. I also started from an acquisition in a dispersion a collection from the USSR. Here is my collection on Colnect (I still have to upload the 80s and 90s from my country): colnect.com/es/collectors/collector/Gabriel-Fernandez-409 I am interested in joining the forum to exchange with other philatelists, the forum has been recommended to me especially by some people from the philatelic clubs here. Additionally, I am designing a thematic collection following the FIAF rules about my soccer team, Racing Club de Montevideo. Involving part of the rich history of Uruguayan soccer, the society of yesteryear, etc. I am designing my own album for my national collection with a certain imprint of my own with philatelic and historical data on what each stamp represents. Here I leave a sample.   |

Hello from Connecticut, USA. Those album pages are wonderful! And I don't think I've ever seen 19th-century Uruguayan stamps in such good condition.

Your interests sound fun and it will be fun to see what you share in the future. Chris Thanks Chris for the welcome. Yes, colnect has helped me to order my collection and serve as a wanted list in the dispersions or auctions. I leave you some more samples of my collection from Uruguay. The first is an 1859 stamp from the "Soles - Cifras Finas" series of the first Uruguayan stamps known as the diligences. The second sample responds to my two passions soccer and stamps. It is a compilation of stamps issued commemorating the 4 world cups obtained by Uruguay: 1924, 1928, 1930 and 1950. The first two in the field of the Olympics and recognized by FIFA (since the world cups had not yet been generated ). Very good FDC I didn't know him, I'm going to look for him. Benitez was a youth squad player at my club, he started in 1955 at the age of 16 and played for 5 years at the club before emigrating to Spain. I leave you the FDC of the anniversary of my club, Benitez is on the stamp (it's the same one I have as an avatar)  |
