What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50
I had my US album out last evening and discovered a few bits of postal stationary stuck in the back that I forgot I even had. Does that sound familiar? This postal card is the first type issued by the US in 1873 and is either a UX1 or UX3 mailed from what appears to be Indianapolis to Port Medway in Queens County, Nova Scotia. It would appear the cross border rate must have been .02 due to the added .01 Franklin that I believe is a Sc 145. There is no great value but nice having an example.
Interesting that the message is in code. I had shown earlier a postcard from Canada to the USA sent in code that was from the 1890's.
