As a stamp collector, people have repeatedly told me that glassine is not acid-free and not archival.
But I have seen packs of glassine sheets being sold for scrapbooking as archival and acid free. And Scott sells glassine interleave sheets to use in stamp albums.
This leads to some interesting questions:
1. Are there different grades of glassine?
2. Is glassine acid-free archive quality or not?
