As a stamp collector, people have repeatedly told me that glassine is not acid-free and not archival.
But I have seen packs of glassine sheets being sold for scrapbooking as archival and acid free. And Scott sells glassine interleave sheets to use in stamp albums.
This leads to some interesting questions:
1. Are there different grades of glassine? 2. Is glassine acid-free archive quality or not?

The whiter glassines are apparently acid-free. They stand up better than the yellowish one which are not. The yellowish ones when old become brittle, the others seems to fare much better. I toss out all yellowish ones that come my way.
