What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

"Please collect within five days." At what point do they send the package back? In Canada, we get a pickup notice that will be followed after about a week with a warning card, stating that the package will be held only for a total of 15 days dating from the original delivery attempt.

I think what you would need to do, Ryan, is consult Australia Post Manuals at Aust Post HQ. Unfortunately, I do not know. We live in a parallel universe in the country, If your mail was any longer than say seven days,for example, the Postmaster would say "Anyone seen Rod? is he on holidays" etc etc. In the City, the rules would be more strictly guided.
I was reading a similar passage from a book from Steve, yesterday from 1872 US, about how long to keep the mail, and whether one had the right to open mail (none whatsoever) etc.
One can, with Aust Post, have mail retained for a certain time, or redirected for 3 months to 1 year, at certain costs. Aust Post is very efficient.
