What I collect: My focus is on Wild Mammals on maximum cards. Occasionally, I get or create maximum cards with other animals, or any other topic.

Hi!
What philatelic items are you LONGING for? Of all your preferences and wantlists, what is 1 item or 1 category of items that you would be ecstatic to get/buy/receive? What would make your day?
For example, I would love to build/create a collection of wild mammals on MAXICARDS (MAXIMUM CARDS). The domestic ones are accepted, too. At least 1 maxicard for every species. That would be at least 5,600 species of mammals.
The purpose is educational, and to promote the hobby, online. I don't plan to sell the collection.

I'd like to say I'm longing for a Scott US #1 or #2 (I am), but I'd really like to have a Black Jack in my album.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Finding a well centered F or VF especially mint is the real challenge. I just looked and see I have 3 used copies but all are just good at best and would probably sell for under 20.00 on eBay.

For me it would be a 1861-57 era Pence Issue Nova Scotia bisect cover with a post mark from my home town of Liverpool or even better one of the smaller communities in Queens County.

The Austrian 10 Schilling Dolfuss. I actually sent in an offer for one on eBay and it was rejected. The stamp ended up going for less than my offer and the seller sent an apology to me. It’s irritating, but amusing as well.

I would go for the two souvenir sheets issued by Saarland in 1948 for the benefit of flood victims. Among the very last (and most expensive) stamps I am missing from post-war Germany.

The wish list is quite extensive, but no expectations or 'longing' for those missing items...
Have fun and happy collecting!

I find myself longing for some of the stamps I have sold from my collection, with the main one being a Penny Black which had a red MX cancel that made Queen Victoria appear to be wearing safety goggles. It was my favorite stamp to view for a giggle, and I can still see it in my mind's eye, so maybe it was the best to cash it in, and enjoy the memory.

The C15 and Scott #1 and #2. They are out there I just haven’t found any to my liking at the price I am willing to pay.

Well I recently acquired a full mint set of Anniversary of King George V Silver Jubilee. Had a few copies of the half, one and three half penny but not the 2 1/2. (they are in the post). The 2 1/2 was surprisingly sparse on ebay. Doubt the 2 1/2 is a Prussian blue but ye never know lol.
Would like to add the 1929 £1 postal union congress. (mint would be nice). And the 1913 George V 10s and £1 to the half crown and 5s I already have.

I need ONE stamp to complete my used Ireland overprints - #38 with a good, legit CDS cancel. Actually, that one stamp (plus a few modern issues that would be easy to buy) would give me one of the very few possible complete postally used collections of Ireland in the entire world because I was lucky enough to find a Captain Jack in kiloware. Isn’t that too freaking cool? As to finding this, well I’ve seen a few, but the cancels seemed squirrelly - looked too perfect, too philatelic. I’m holding out for a copy that actually was postally used, hopefully with a certificate. I’ve saved for that little gem, now just need to find it. here’s a thumbnail pic from Colnect, Scott #38, 10 shilling seahorse Thom overprint, 1922 - lovely little stamp, eh? Drool!
