So agian, I asked AI to rewrite the body text for my Ukraine Project's website. Here it is:
This is so different from my writing style! I hardly ever use this kind of strong language because one, I don't want to 'impose' on the readers (as if they have to volunteer their time/energy or dontate their money to this cause), and two, I generally lack self-confidence.
However, my friend who has walked with me since the begining of this project thinks in advertising, it's necessary to show (or pretend) confidence, and to clearly indicating what you want from people.
Any thought?

Advertising is an outsourceable skill, within limits. You do your "thing", then some advertising whiz could skillfully promote it. Or you can learn, as you do it.
Your project is a new textbook case study, at the confluence of many things. It is a role model for how philately/maximaphily/deltiology/marcophily and postcrossing can unite a few people from around the world, for a worthy cause. I supported you in this from (before) Day 1. Bravo for all your efforts, Linda & global team!

dorincard -- Thank you for your encouragement. It came at the moment I feel most dejected! Lately, my everyday has been in an abominable swirl -- Everyday I wake up, I search 3 auction houses in the world to write to, then I wait. And I wait until next day to contact another 3. So far I have emailed the most prominent ones in UK, US, Switzerland, and Germany. No one ever bothered to send a quick reply. I don't know if it's because this (selling non-traditional maxicard) is not their 'usual thing' or the timing too tight. It’s not difficult to put items onto an auction platform, but they will not sell for a high enough price unless some advertisement is done. Prominent auction houses know where to look for clients. Whereas I don't. According to my calculation, each card has to be priced at at least $7 to make any proceed. It seems to be a rather high price for a maxicard ...

Oh, I just found out that the 24th of August will be a Saturday next year; most of post offices around the world will not be open. This means that this project cannot be held in 2024 nor 2025. (Not that I hope the project can live on either, as I like everyone else outside of Russia hope the war to end soon.)
Is there any way to go around the limitation set by the business hour of worldwide post office? (But using stamps as a means means acknowledging this limitation in the first place ...)
If not, this year will be the last edition before we enter a 2-year pause.
I was thinking of inviting countries which didn't end up participating to join this year. And then the next edition, I can concentrate on coordinating a global hand-drawn/painted cover/maxicard creation project: that is to invite artists around the world to create a unique artwork, like my Peace to Us (2022), that incorporates the design of a Ukraine support stamp issued by their countries. The last project is very ambitious, that's why I think I will need 1 year of preparation. But do you think we will lose much momentum after the 2-year pause?

LindaIs it really true that all post offices everywhere are closed on Saturdays? I just came from the US Post Office in Upland, California, and it is open on Saturdays. They close at 14:00 instead of 18:00, but they were open today, and I would guess that other offices are, too, although perhaps not all. Anyway, just FYI.

I visited a post office in New York earlier today as well. In my experience, it varies from place to place — some, though not all, U.S. post offices are open on Saturdays.

The smaller branches in the Sacramento ar5ea have been closed on Saturdays for a while. The larger post offices are open at least half a day. There is a labor shortage even for mail personell.

In Canada, some post offices in big urban centres (like the ones in Montreal) may be open on the weekend, but the postmen don't come to pick up nor deliver mails. Items can still be postmarked though. However, in small places most of post offices are closed on the weekend.
Based on my travel experience, most of post offices in France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Japan and Taiwan are closed on the weekend. In Japan and Taiwan, there are a few bigger ones that may be open for half of a day. But generally speaking they are rare. It would be difficult to find participants willing to travel all the way on a Saturday to those specific post offices, methinks.

I am preparing some documents that will go with the advertisement of Stamp Out War project. I need to find out the Scott numbers of some of the stamps used in creating my Ukraine Support Maxicards. No problem, LindaI just wanted to see if there might be some way that you could do your thing without needing to skip two years. For what it’s worth, I would be willing to go to the post office here in California on Sat-24-Aug-2024, if you wish. Just let me know if I can help you in some way. I think that what you are doing is great.

Update: I think my work on the slide is pretty much done, after adding explanation about postmark. I hope I don't need to explain what a (postage) stamp and a postcard are to people who are old enough to read my text!
The slide's beautiful visual is based on a theme that was made available by Slidesgo team; very generaous of them.
I have submitted my article to Terry Watson too; hopefully it can appear in the next volume of his journal.
A general-public-orientated version of the article is in progress. The layout has been done (and I am quite satisfied), only the text needs to be improved.
And if anyone is curious, the cover of all of these documents are based on 2 photographs of mine: The first shows moving clouds in the sky at sunrise; it was taken in Montreal. The second shows a field in rural Quebec; it was taken, also at sunrise, during my short 'test bike trip' around the province of Quebec to test my camping gear. I was looking for a relevant visual in my harddrive to use, and I happened to stumble upon the second, as-yet unpublished / unprocessed photo that has a nice warm sunlight halo to it. I changed the sky and the image was born!

I started a thread on Postcrossing forum asking about a possible 2026 edition of Stamp Out War. This time, the postcards will not bear my photograph, but will be uniquely hand-drawn/painted by artists around the world. Then the hand-drawn/painted postcards will be made into maxicards that can be auctioned off. I posted in the art forum WetCanvas about the same ambitious project, but no reply for the past 2 weeks. Some Postcrossing forum members have the habit of hand-drawing / painting their own postcards, so I am taking a chance there. So far one Postcrosser from Singapore is willing to volunteer her talent. There will be a 2-year pause to this international collaboration from my part, because I really need a break to work on the artistic side of this project. However, if someone is willing to keep this project running, I would be more than willing to help passing down whatever legacy I have built up during the first 2 years. So, the 2026 event may be the last one I will be in charge of organising at the global scale.
Also, some people wondered about my decision to exlude the 25 countries that had participated in the 2022 edition of the project. My reason is that the more countries are included, the harder I as the organiser have to work. There are a lot of countries in the world whose voice people often neglect, so I think the priority should be to invite people from countries that had not participated yet to participate. Another reason is about stamp stock. Beside the newly issued Ukraine support stamps by little more than a dozen countries, most of the sunflower / yellow flower stamps used in this project are old and difficult to find – at least on online market. In the past year, I have purchased pretty much all such stamps that I could find were afforadable, so that today, I simply don’t have any stamp left for a fair amount of countries. Unless I can find local dealers in each individual country who offer those stamps at a reasonable price … But, my decision is subject to change. So far I have received messages from American, Lithuanian, German, Austrian stating their wish to participate. I will see how likely an eventual inclusion of the previous 25 countries in the 2023 edition can be.

The full catalogue for the auctionning of the 2022 edition of Ukraine support maxicards is finally here! Here is how the auction will proceed: 14-28 June (Phase 1): 41 singles will be auctionned off. 4-5 cards per day. After a week of pause, 5 - 19 July (Phase 2): 3 mini-sets and the complete set and potentially the leftover singles will be auctionned off. There is no guarantee how much singles will be left over. But I should like to give people a second chance to acquire them if there be any. The arrangement of singles / sets is designed in a way that it's impossible to make up a mini-set or a complete set by acquiring all the singles. In other words, sets are unique! For the moment the auction will take place on eBay. However, under extraordinary circumstance, it can end up taking place on another platform. All changes will be announced on the project's website. I have to increase the starting price of each card because of all the costs associated with this project that were not entirely in my control. I hope everyone will get what they desire and I look forward to shipping out all the maxicards my global team and I produced in 2022.

Tomorrow is the big day! In the end, amidst more than 50 mails I sent out to the rest of the world, about 40 of them have reached their intended recipients. Tomorrow, some 40 people across the 5-6 continents -- including our friend ameis33 -- will show their solidarity with Ukraine by bringing my blue/yellow postcards to local post offices and getting them postmarked! People around the world united by one common cause to perform one common ritual. How cool is this!?

a worthy enterprise to say the least - it made me think of a quote - attributed erroneously to Edmund Burke and apparently almost certainly from John Stuart Mill - something roughly along the lines of "all that is required for evil to succeed is that good men should look on and do nothing. Tragically, this event seems to be at a stalemate.
