Christmas seals from Southern Schleswig (Slesvig) 1968 / 1977. I especially enjoy Seals that have been through the mail and have cancels, which many of these do. It is interesting to note that while Southern Schleswig is politically part of the German state, Schleswig-Holstein, these seals use the Danish language spellings. These were a in a surprise gift glassine from tobben63 . Thank you again!

I'm glad you liked them. I have not gone through the envelopes myself. They was a pert of a auction purchase some months ago. I have a lot more that I hope to find time to go trough later. They look nice, and I'm as always tempted to collect, but no, I have plenty of collection areas that I never will have time to go deep into

I know what you mean, tobben63. Philately is so enormous, there just isn’t enough time to delve into all the fascinating areas out there. I’m down to about a dozen countries and I still feel like I’m only scratching the surface of what there is to learn. I like to do what you did - pass on material like this to another collector who has more time and interest.

Very interesting labels ! They were issued by or for the danish minority in Schleswig. Schlewig was divided between Danmark and Germany after WW I. The northern part became danish, the southern part remained with Germany. But there are minorities on each side of the border, what have some special rights.
